Editorial Policy
We write people-first content from primary specifications and public documentation, separate facts from manufacturer claims and from our own interpretation, cite sources, date every page honestly, and keep affiliate relationships out of our assessments.
Independence
Manufacturers and retailers do not pay us to feature, review, or rank their products. We are not sent products in exchange for coverage. Our only monetisation is the Amazon Associates program, and which products we cover and how we describe them is decided before any affiliate link is added.
Sourcing
- Product specifications come from the manufacturer’s own product page or printed instructions wherever possible.
- We distinguish three things explicitly: verified manufacturer specifications, public technical documentation, and any first-hand testing.
- Manufacturer marketing claims (for example "will not warp") are attributed to the manufacturer, not stated as independent fact.
- Where we cannot verify a specification, we say "not verified" or omit it. We do not fill gaps with estimates presented as facts.
Writing standards
- Every article answers its main question directly near the top.
- We aim for information gain — something you cannot get from the product listing.
- No keyword stuffing, no padding to hit a word count, no rewritten Amazon descriptions or copied customer reviews.
- Limitations and caveats are stated, not hidden.
Dates and updates
Each page shows a published date and, when it has been meaningfully revised, an updated date. We do not change the date without a substantive content change. Update history is noted on the page where it matters.
Recipes
A recipe is only published as a full, structured recipe once it has actually been made and its quantities and timing checked. Untested recipes appear, if at all, as clearly labeled outlines with no rating and no Recipe structured data.
Use of AI tools
We may use software tools, including AI assistants, to help draft, structure, or check content. A human is responsible for every published page, for its factual claims, and for the sourcing. We do not mass-publish unreviewed generated text.
Wording safeguards
We avoid absolute safety and performance claims such as "completely safe", "non-toxic", "guaranteed", "will never warp", "scratch-proof", or "FDA-approved" unless a manufacturer makes the claim, in which case it is attributed to them. We prefer "designed to", "the manufacturer states", "may be suitable for", and "a limitation to consider".
